Hilco Corporate Finance (“HCF”) served as the exclusive investment banker to Great Socks Holding Co., LLC (“Fox River Mills” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of LongWater Opportunities, in its sale of the majority of Fox River’s assets to Nester Hosiery, LLC (“Nester”), a portfolio company of Merit Capital, completed on July 31st, 2025.
Founded in 1900, Fox River Mills is a U.S.-based manufacturer known for producing high-performance socks and accessories tailored to the needs of tactical and outdoor enthusiasts. Headquartered in Osage, Iowa, the Company is committed to manufacturing durable products built to withstand demanding conditions and rugged terrain, serving military personnel, outdoor workers, and active lifestyle consumers. In addition to its flagship Fox River brand, the Company also owns Pistil, a specialty brand focused on premium outdoor accessories.
Fox River Mills was acquired by LongWater Opportunities in November 2016. Both LongWater and Fox River shared the goal of identifying a new capital partner to support the Company’s next phase of growth, which ultimately led to the decision to pursue a sale process. Hilco Corporate Finance launched a formal marketing process in March 2025, which ultimately resulted in the successful sale to Nester Hosiery, LLC. The Fox River, Pistil, and Anywear Essentials brands will be integrated into Nester’s growing portfolio, which includes Farm to Feet and various licensed and private label lines. Fox River’s legacy of producing military-grade, high-performance socks in the U.S. will continue under Nester’s direction.
