NIST CSF 2.0 Cyber Risk Assessment
Client requested an in-depth review of their cybersecurity posture against NIST CSF 2.0 requirements. This client is a highly regulated state government insurance carrier with over 2000 employees, adding to the complexity of the project.
- NIST CSF 2.0
- 106 total controls reviewed
- 11-week assessment timeline
Engagement team was responsible for documentation review, stakeholder interviews, client communications, and overall development & delivery of final assessment report.
Conducted a cybersecurity assessment that included document and policy review, as well as seven stakeholder workshops to validate adherence to NIST CSF 2.0 requirements. Hilco Global Cyber Advisors provided a detailed assessment workbook with analysis across all 106 CSF subcategories, along with an executive summary and final report. Hilco Global Cyber Advisors identified 19 risks and mapped them to 10 initiatives tailored to the client’s operating environment and regulatory requirements. Each initiative detailed specific implementation steps across technical, operational, and governance domains. These deliverables gave the client clear visibility into its cybersecurity posture and a practical roadmap for reducing risk.
Initial assessment resulted in follow-on strategy and advisory opportunities in the following areas:
- Cyber threat intelligence uplift and vendor selection
- Third party incident coordination support
- Incident response tabletop exercise
