Alan Shaw serves as Executive Vice President of Hilco Real Estate and Co-CEO of Hilco Real Estate’s Asset Management division. With over 30 years of real estate acquisition, disposition, and development experience, Alan thrives on creating extraordinary value across all real estate asset classes including industrial, retail, office, muti-family, hotel, entertainment, and casinos.
Prior to joining Hilco, Alan was Senior Vice President of Development at Simon Property Group, the world’s largest owner of shopping malls and retail outlet centers. There, he managed the portfolio of all department/anchor stores. Previously, he was Vice President of Real Estate at Sears Holdings (Sears and Kmart), where he led the leasing, development, and disposition of their 269 million square foot portfolio, then the second largest retail real estate portfolio in the world, creating over $3.5 billion in value and launching a publicly traded REIT.
Alan brings an entrepreneurial approach to corporate real estate. His unique experience in managing and monetizing large scale and complex portfolios has earned him frequent speaking opportunities at national and international real estate trade association events, including ICSC and MAPIC and he has served as an expert witness in real estate litigation cases. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College.
