Mitch Friedel

Mitch Friedel is Executive Director – Head of Retail Development, Advisory & Leasing at Hilco Global. In this role, he advises owners and developers on the strategic planning, merchandising, and leasing of lifestyle, town center, and mixed-use retail developments, helping clients create high-performing destinations that integrate retail, dining, entertainment, and community engagement.

With more than three decades of experience in retail real estate development and leasing, Mitch has played a leading role in shaping some of the most prominent lifestyle and mixed-use developments in North America. His expertise includes advising developers on early-stage project planning, tenant mix strategy, anchor and boutique tenant placement, financial modeling, and the execution of full-cycle retail leasing programs.

Throughout his career, Mitch has worked closely with ownership groups, development teams, and architectural partners to guide projects from initial concept through opening. His experience includes work on several landmark developments, including the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, CityPlace in West Palm Beach, and the $1 billion redevelopment of Disney Springs in Orlando. He is currently advising on several major open-air mixed-use development initiatives in markets including Florida, Texas, Nashville, and Park City.
