Neil Aaronson
Neil Aaronson serves as President of the Americas at the Hilco Global holding company and Chief Executive Officer of Hilco Real Estate. As President of Hilco Global, Neil is responsible for implementing the firm’s long term growth strategy, while working closely with the executive leadership of all 20+ Hilco operating companies to drive cross-platform integration and growth. In addition, Neil serves on the Hilco Global investment committee.
As CEO of Hilco Real Estate, Neil has built the operating company into one of the largest and most successful business units within Hilco Global. During his tenure, Neil has been the key driver in the expansion of the real estate practice at Hilco, which includes the industry-leading lease advisory practice, an international real estate brokerage business and comprehensive asset management/receivership services. As a leader in the real estate industry, Neil has been instrumental in the successful completion of tens of billions in transaction value over his career to date. Neil has extensive experience in all aspects of retail, restaurant, industrial, hospitality, office and medical office real estate.
Neil has primarily been recognized as a “dealmaker” throughout his 25-year career, closing many of the largest and most profitable transactions at Hilco Real Estate, including M&A deals, asset management engagements and investments. He has worked in partnership with many of the world’s most recognized companies, private equity funds, private credit funds, hedge funds, banks and legal advisors.
Neil began his association with Hilco Global in 2006 as an Executive Vice President at the holding company. In 2008, Neil assumed the leadership role as CEO of Hilco Real Estate. Prior to joining Hilco Global, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for publicly traded Cendant Corporation, where he oversaw deal-making and M&A activity for the company’s hotel and timeshare businesses. He previously held the position of Vice President for Cendant’s Strategic Development Group which was responsible for all M&A throughout Cendant Corporation. Earlier in his career,, Neil served as an investment banker with Furman Selz/ING Barings, where he handled the analysis and negotiations of acquisitions, divestitures and financings for several public and private companies.
Neil’s expertise and experience have earned him many speaking opportunities and participation in educational panels at numerous trade association conferences and seminars, including ICSC, American Bankruptcy Institute, Secured Finance Network, and IMN (Information Management Network). He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Neil received a Bachelor of Economics Degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
