Eric Hurwitz

Eric Hurwitz is Director, IP Services in the Professional Services division at Hilco Global. He focuses on driving growth through business development and project execution. Eric brings 20+ years of intellectual property licensing, monetization and advisory experience in patents, trademarks and brands coupled with entrepreneurial leadership as a Founder, CEO and CMO.

Eric was Co-Founder and CEO of Mensch Capital, where he drove corporate vision, investor relations, asset acquisition and deal execution. Under his leadership, Mensch secured 25 patent licenses and infringement settlements within three years of its founding, earning Eric recognition in the IAM Strategy 300 list in both 2017 and 2018 as one of the world’s top IP strategists.

Earlier, Eric founded The License Bureau, a brand and product licensing agency. There, he executed hundreds of licensing deals and strategic alliances for high-profile clients such as the Miss America Organization, Homage Apparel, Buzz Aldrin, American Express Publishing, and Warner Music Group.

Eric also served as Director of Licensing at Levin Consulting, where he worked with major consumer technology brands including Dirt Devil, Sylvania, and Altec Lansing. He led the firm’s entry into technology transfer, brokering deals that connected early-stage innovation with commercial markets—most notably in medical device and telecommunication sectors.

In parallel with his IP monetization work, Eric has held leadership roles in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) space. As Co-Founder and CEO of The Dairy Free Company, he led the brand’s rebranding, growth, and exit. He later served as CMO of Whoa Dough, where his integrated marketing strategies significantly boosted sales and brand engagement.

Eric holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and a BA in Communication from The Ohio State University. He has also served on the advisory boards of University Hospital’s Connor Integrative Medicine Network and University Hospital’s Sports Medicine Group.
