House of Design Robotics

House of Design Robotics, founded in 2012 in Nampa, Idaho, was a pioneer in advanced robotic automation systems for the offsite construction and building components manufacturing sectors. The company distinguished itself with a full-stack integration model that combined mechanical, electrical, controls, and proprietary software engineering to deliver turnkey solutions built around best-in-class industrial robots. Its systems addressed key industry challenges, including skilled labor shortages, production bottlenecks, and quality variability, and served a customer base spanning truss manufacturers, wall panel fabricators, modular builders, and national building materials suppliers.

After the Company was placed into an involuntary Chapter 7 Bankruptcy proceeding, the secured creditor, Builders FirstSource, obtained a lift-stay order and engaged Hilco Streambank to market and sell its collateral under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. The assets included a portfolio of U.S. and foreign patents, proprietary robotics integration and controls software, registered trademarks and domain names, and fixed assets including industrial robots, truss assembly and conveyance systems, forklifts, panel line development equipment, compressed air systems, and diagnostic tools located at the company’s former state-of-the-art facility in Nampa, Idaho.

Hilco Streambank conducted a thorough marketing and sale campaign, effectively managing risk for our client, and completing a commercially reasonable sale of the borrower’s collateral in under 40 days. Our efforts resulted in a competitive open-cry auction, attracting interest from domestic and international strategic buyers, ultimately resulting in multiple separate transactions for various subsets of the intangible and tangible assets.
