Candace is Associate Director at Hilco Performance Solutions. She is an accomplished Supply Chain and Logistics Professional with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. Known for deep experience developing and implementing global logistics strategies, identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and to reduce cost, she has led cross-functional supply chain initiatives within publicly traded and privately held matrix manufacturing organizations ranging from $25 million to $8 billion dollars in revenue, with much of her work focused on mid-market manufacturing organizations.
Select experiences from her career include:
- Designed and executed a global logistics category management strategy for a $400M engine component manufacturer, integrating transportation and distribution data from 40 locations across 22 countries. The strategy included vendor management and development practices, and a specific strategy for managing each transportation mode, which resulted in a 3% reduction in logistics costs as a percent of sales revenue.
- Led the planning and execution of a vendor managed inventory (VMI) in a Customs Bonded warehouse to create next day availability of parts from China. The VMI contract established vendor ownership of the parts until pulled from the warehouse, reducing inventory levels and deferring payment of the duty and tariff charges. The bonded warehouse agreement allowed 30 days free time, so with careful inventory planning, no added expense was incurred.
- Sourced and implemented a Transportation Management System (TMS) for an $800M global manufacturer of aerospace, industrial and consumer products. The TMS reduced inbound and outbound shipment processing time, improved inventory accuracy, provided shipment visibility and augmented the data reporting capabilities. Using the TMS dynamic routing and reverse auction functionality reduced Truckload and LTL shipping costs by 8%.
- Designed and enforced a DOT Compliance and Trade Compliance program for a $100M automotive OEM and aftermarket supplier to mitigate the risk of non-compliance fines / penalties, Identified and corrected combination vehicle marking errors, and replaced one box truck for compliant interstate use.
- Initiated Periodic Monthly Statements with U.S. Customs, reducing duty payments by 5% and extending payment terms by 25 days.
- Developed a logistics network design for a new business unit of a $52B global science and technology innovator. The business was formed by the merger of two dental supply businesses and the insourced manufacturing of their highest volume product line. The design integrated the inbound and outbound freight routes of the existing operations with the 82 new inbound routings for the insourced manufacturing and reduced budgeted logistics costs by 7%.
- Achieved significant Small Parcel cost savings by leveraging total corporate volume to negotiate a 30% rate reduction with our secondary provider and a 22% rate reduction on international air service with a new provider.
