Scott Carlson

Scott Carlson is Director in the Professional Services division at Hilco Global. Scott brings over 15 years of professional experience in performing field examinations for asset-based engagements, as well as audit and M&A diligence. His ABL experience spans both US and cross-border transactions across a wide variety of industries. As with all Hilco team members, Scott is a dedicated advocate for his clients. His experience includes:

• Leading engagements within the consumer, industrial, and retail industries, with further specialization in the transportation, steel, staffing, aerospace, technology, e-commerce, agriculture, oil and gas, and fishing markets.
• Conducting complex cross-border field exams, focusing on identifying jurisdictional risks in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
• Consulting with lenders, direct-hire entities, private equity sponsors, and restructuring advisers on pre-diligence, including structuring asset-based engagements to maximize potential value by identifying foreign jurisdictions and various asset types to include in proposed facilities.
• Assisting clients in closing numerous deals related to both traditional and unconventional transactions requiring unique lending approaches.
• Identifying the risks and rewards associated with receivables, inventory, machinery and equipment, and tax credits for potential inclusion in asset-based facilities. This includes understanding a company’s multiple revenue streams from both accounting and practical standpoints.
• Advising potential and current borrowers on their weekly or monthly borrowing base calculations, including automation of the borrowing base calculation when possible.

Scott is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and a member of the SFNet Midwest Chapter. He holds a MS and a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.
