Kevin A. Krakora is Managing Director in the Professional Services division at Hilco Global. Kevin has over 30 years of experience in corporate turnarounds, strategic consulting, financial and operational restructurings, and performance improvement. Kevin specializes in advising and working with under-performing companies to develop and implement business transformation strategies, operational/financial improvements and turnaround plans. He has extensive experience advising both companies and senior lenders in complex debt restructurings, financings and workouts.
Kevin has served in numerous senior executive positions, including as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Restructuring Officer and Independent Director.
Kevin leads the automotive and transportation practice at Getzler Henrich. He has substantial experience in numerous industries, including airline, automotive/transportation, healthcare, industrial/manufacturing, and security/alarm among others.
Kevin advises boards of directors and executive management teams regarding strategic alternatives and performance improvement plans, assisting both in their development and implementation. He has worked with financially challenged companies to address liquidity issues, improve working capital, develop cost containment programs, implement process improvements and improve profitability. He has led negotiations with senior lenders, junior lenders, equity holders, and acquisition partners, as well as key customers, suppliers and vendors on behalf of his clients. He has also advised numerous companies in confidential engagements involving refinancings and out-of-court debt restructurings, recapitalizations and divestitures.
He has advised the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in several high-profile bankruptcies including AMR Corporation (American Airlines), North American Petroleum Corporation USA, Pappas Telecasting Companies and UAL Corporation (United Airlines). Kevin recently served as president and chair of TMA Global, a global organization comprised of turnaround and corporate renewal professionals with 55 chapters worldwide. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional, a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a frequent speaker on restructurings and distressed M&A.
