Under Offer
Background

Before Liquidation, Changingday was a software business operating in the virtual reality (VR) gaming industry, focusing on immersive experiences designed specifically for autistic individuals. Motivated by their personal experience with their autistic daughter, Alison and Nick Lang saw VR as a medium to offer safe and controlled environments where autistic players can explore and interact at their own pace. The Lang’s vision culminated in the development of their flagship game, BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space.

BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space is an innovative VR space adventure game where players assist a robot named BLINNK in capturing mischievous creatures called Groobs. Built from the ground up to be accessible and enjoyable for autistic players, each level of the game provides fun, pressure-free interactions and features robust accessibility options, allowing users to customise sound and visuals, ensuring a personalised experience. The game encourages players to interact and navigate various scenarios, such as helping a dentist clean teeth or assisting a park ranger, all within a supportive and engaging environment.

With over £1m in funding from Scottish Enterprise and private investors, the BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space game was completed and launched on the market with solid traction and sales. Despite the Company’s closure, many of the most popular distributors continue to market the game, including Meta and Steam, with sales still ongoing even after the Company’s closure, which is a clear testament to the game’s traction and appeal in the market, making it a promising investment for any prospective purchaser.

This unique opportunity presents a prospective buyer with the chance to acquire the Changingday intellectual property assets, including the BLINNK and the Vacuum of Space game, and enter or consolidate their position in the rapidly expanding VR gaming market tailored for neurodiverse individuals. The global VR gaming market is projected to reach USD 92.31 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 30.2% from 2020 to 2027. Additionally, with approximately 700,000 autistic people in the UK – equating to more than 1 in 100 people – the market for specialised gaming experiences is significant and growing. With the game’s proven traction and demand, this acquisition could lead to significant growth and profitability in the specialised VR experiences market (AIXR) (BeyondAutism) (Treetop ABA Therapy).
