Chapter 7 Domains Closed Deal

In March 2021, Erin Renneker, as the chapter 7 trustee of an individual in bankruptcy, hired Hilco Streambank to run a sale process for various domain names. These domain names included AllOut.com, AllOut.net, Words.org and MindControl.com. Hilco Streambank developed and ran a comprehensive marketing campaign for the domain names, contacting approximately 500 potential buyers which ultimately led to an auction. We creatively structured the auction to allow for bidding in lots, one of which resulted in 18 rounds of bidding. We assisted the chapter 7 trustee in managing all aspects of the closing, including transferring the domain names to each of the purchasers.
