Inspiral
Background
inSpiral was a unique company specialising in the manufacturing and sale of healthy, vegan snacks. The Company supplied its own-branded products to specialist health food stores and major high street retailers in the UK, including Marks and Spencer, Pret a Manger, MyProtein, Veganz, and Heimatgut. In addition, inSpiral sold its products directly to consumers via the Company’s professional eCommerce website, hosted at inspiral.co. The Company’s snacks were made from the finest organic ingredients, and were manufactured in inSpiral’s factory in London. inSpiral generated £2.4m in revenue in 2018, comprising £1.14m domestic and £1.23m international sales.
Engagement/Marketing
In July 2018, James Sleight, Oliver Collinge, and Peter Hart of Geoffrey Martin & Co. and as the Joint Administrators of inSpiral Visionary Products Limited (in Administration) appointed Hilco Streambank to actively seek interested parties with regards to the sale of the Company’s intellectual property assets, including its brand, website, and domain name. We conducted a comprehensive sales and marketing exercise directed at our bespoke database of buyers of intellectual property assets in the vegan foods sector. The opportunity generated a great amount of interest and a number of offers were received for the intellectual property, resulting in a greater than expected return for the assets.
Outcome
Hilco Streambank closed a deal with an interested party to acquire inSpiral’s intellectual property assets within 4 weeks of our initial engagement.
