Hilco Streambank’s Role
In 2008, Mervyn’s Holdings retained Streambank LLC to market and sell its intellectual property assets, including the Mervyn’s name and numerous house brands.
Mervyns was a family-friendly promotional neighborhood department store offering trend-right fashions and home décor at affordable prices. At its peak in 2005, Mervyns operated more than 175 department stores throughout seven states, and its retail stores accounted for revenues of over $3 billion.
Hilco Streambank Closed the Deal
Following a two-month marketing process, Streambank divided the portfolio and sold various subsets to five different parties for an aggregate of over $575,000, including the sale of the Mervyn’s trademark and brand name back to the original founding family.
