MC Sports
MC Sports retained Hilco Streambank to market its brand assets, including private label brands, customer data and domain names while operating as a chapter 11 debtor in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.
Founded in 1946, MC Sports was a sporting goods retailer that, as of 2016, operated 80 stores throughout the Midwest. Its offerings included merchandise from leading national brands such as Nike and Adidas as well as the brand’s exclusive private label names such as Traverse Bay Tackle, Drift Creek, DC Athletics and DC Performance. In 2016, the company generated nearly $175 million in revenue, with about $1.3 million from its private label brands.
Hilco Streambank conducted a marketing process, culminating in a sealed bid round, and assisted the company in closing a sale with Sports Direct in 2017.
